At a prestigious award ceremony held in London\u2019s Victoria Albert Museum, Resomation Ltd was presented by Colin Firth with the Jupiter Big Idea Award in the annual Observer Ethics Awards.<\/p>\n

Resomation was chosen based on the significant carbon reduction benefits this unique process offers over traditional cremation.<\/p><\/div>\n

JOHN LOGIE BAIRD AWARDS PROGRAMME 2009<\/h3>\n
In March 2010 Resomation Ltd was presented with the John Logie Baird Award for \u2019Early Stage Impact Through Innovation\u2019 at the Ceremony held in Glasgow\u2019s Science Centre. Managing Director Sandy Sullivan said \u201cThis award means a lot to our business. It feels fantastic to be recognised for all he hard work to date, and what greater honour than to receive an award which celebrates one of Scotland\u2019s greatest inventors; John Logie Baird.\u201d<\/div>\n

Support from the UK Cremation Society<\/h4>\n

There is no doubt that water cremation is likely to have a great attraction to the ever-increasing environmentally aware public. The Cremation Society has acknowledged this fact and a result altered its Memorandum of Articles of Association to accommodate the process.<\/p>\n

Support from CANA (Cremation Association of North America)<\/h4>\n

CANA altered its \u201cModel Law\u201d for cremation given to US states as a guidance document which then allowed for water cremation.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Law Commission of England and Wales<\/h2>\n
In December 2022, The Law Commission of England and Wales have started work on the 2017 project exploring a Modern Framework for the Disposal of the Dead, which may formally create a framework for the new alternatives being offered alongside the current methods of disposal.<\/div>\n

The process has been in regular use in 6 locations in the USA with over 6000 water cremations, including Florida, Minnesota, Washington and Oregon.<\/div>\n
