Resomation Managing Director, Howard Pickard, addressed the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE) Cemeteries and Crematoria seminar on Thursday 11th <\/sup>April in Birmingham.<\/p>\n This year\u2019s APSE seminar focused on the ever-evolving cultural landscape in bereavement services, highlighting industry best practice and innovation as well as the environmental challenges faced in the funeral industry.<\/p>\n Howard spoke about the potential for water cremation to help address environmental concerns as an end-of-life option alongside local authority and industry representatives who spoke on a wide range of issues.<\/p>\n Commenting on the event, Howard said:<\/p>\n \u201cThe APSE Cemeteries and Crematoria Seminar is a great opportunity to discuss innovation and new ways of thinking in the funeral industry. <\/em><\/p>\n I was pleased to bring Resomation into this discussion and its potential as a future option for local authorities in their bereavement services\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n On the environment and the funeral industry, Howard said:<\/p>\n \u201cThe world\u2019s population has quadrupled over last century and the funeral industry has a key role to play in helping to deliver a range of end-of-life options which can fulfil demand and help to reduce local authorities carbon footprint.<\/em><\/p>\n Attitudes are changing on consideration of the environment and choosing greener alternatives. Water cremation is an example of where technology can deliver a greener alternative whilst giving the public more choice.<\/em><\/p>\n I was delighted to address the seminar and listen to some fascinating presentations from a range of industry leaders\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n
