Resomation founder delivers keynote speech at Dutch funeral congress

Sandy Sullivan, founder and Director of Resomation Ltd, was pleased to be invited to deliver a keynote speech at the Funeral Future congress in Assen, the Netherlands, on 26 March 2019.

The sell-out audience of over 300 funeral directors from the Netherlands and further afield were able to hear from a wide range of speakers about the future of the funeral industry.

The aim of the Funeral Future congress is to bring together industry experts from across the Netherlands and further afield to discuss new, relevant and technical developments in the funeral industry. The event was organised by NDC Mediagroep and RememberMe; a company which promotes innovation within the funeral industry.

Speaking after the event, Sandy said:

“I was delighted to be invited to address the Funeral Future congress and spread awareness of water cremation, or ‘Resomoren’ as it is referred as in the Netherlands.

“The focus of the discussion was around the environmental benefits of water cremation and the contribution it can make to help the funeral industry in the Netherlands improve its carbon credentials.

“There has been significant progress made in the Netherlands, with work ongoing between the funeral industry and the Dutch authorities to introduce water cremation. It is expected that within the next year water cremation will become available and this would be a revolutionary change for the Dutch funeral industry.

It was clear to me that the Dutch funeral industry is very considerate of environmental issues and are therefore coming on board with water cremation as an environmentally conscious end of life option”.
