Resomation welcomes members of the funeral industry to first open day

Resomation was pleased to open its doors earlier this summer and welcome members of the funeral industry to its factory in West Yorkshire.

Over 40 funeral directors, celebrants and crematoria operators visited the Resomation factory for an Open Day to hear about the water cremation process, understand the benefits it will bring to the environment and see the machinery for themselves.

The Open Day was the first of a series of events where the team at Resomation are encouraging members of the funeral industry to find out more about water cremation and how it is helping bring a new, environmental alternative to the public.

Sandy Sullivan, Founder and Director of Resomation shared a presentation on the day and explained why Resomation is pioneering water cremation around the world and the environmental and social benefits it brings. Following the event, he said:

“We were delighted to put out an open invite to the funeral industry to come to our factory and see for themselves the innovative technology we have created. It was a chance to catch up with some familiar faces, but we were also pleased to meet new people and share the latest information about water cremation.

“Already available in 15 US states and 3 Canadian provinces, water cremation is gaining interest and support across the world. As we progress plans to introduce this innovation in the UK, we are encouraging people to speak to us and learn more about how water cremation is shaping the future of the funeral Industry. This was a great opportunity to do so and has led to further conversations and actions to help introduce this in the UK.”

Howard Pickard, MD of Resomation and owner of the manufacturing factory in Pudsey, West Yorkshire explained that this is the first of many Open Days as Resomation is committed to sharing information about this process with as many interested parties as possible. He commented:

“We are proud to have used our many years of manufacturing experience to innovate this patented technology for water cremation. We genuinely believe this is a choice and an alternative that is needed in the funeral industry and want to engage in an open dialogue about how we can introduce this in the UK.

“We had a lot of interest in the Open Day and we are already planning the next event for the end of November. We encourage Funeral Directors, crematoria owners and operators and celebrants to get in touch, find out more and join us then.”
